An Unexpected Journey to Comfort
The bed surprisingly cradled me in comfort, allowing for restful nights despite the hotel’s age. Staff were attentive and helpful, ensuring we had everything we needed.
Unfortunately, the room smelled musty and the bathroom fixtures were in dire need of an upgrade. This left us feeling uncertain about cleanliness during our four-night stay.

I stayed here for a night and really enjoyed the comfy queen room, especially with the hot coffee offered in the morning. The seasonal outdoor pool was a nice way to unwind after a long day, and I loved how the little breakfast spot next door was just a short walk away. The only hitch was the A/C being a bit noisy at night, but it didn't ruin my experience. 😊

We recently stayed here with our 4 teenagers and enjoyed the close proximity to Laser Mania Family Fun Center, which made for an exciting evening. The breakfast selection was decent, and our room was surprisingly quiet, allowing everyone to recharge after our adventures.
My kids wished the rooms could have been cleaner and the amenities upgraded for a better experience.

The front desk staff were polite and accommodating, trying to address our concerns during our stay. However, the room wasn't as clean as expected, with missing amenities like a functioning TV and no clock present. Breakfast options required a trek next door, and the locked doors during posted hours were frustrating. Despite these issues, there were some positives, like the cleanliness of the linens and the proximity to various dining options nearby, which included some enjoyable places for meals.

The low price definitely attracts attention, making it feel like a steal. The retro neon sign adds a bit of charm, and having a kitchenette—even if underutilized—can be appealing for quick meals on the go.
Upon arrival, the place feels more neglected than inviting, with an office cluttered with junk hinting at disrepair. The rooms show significant wear, noisy air conditioning, rusted sink outlets, ripped chairs, and filthy couches take away from comfort. Cracks around the doors let in light and sounds from outside, including rowdy neighbors, making it difficult to get a good night’s sleep. Breakfast options are minimal and unappetizing—only sugary cereals and boxed waffles. Add to that the outdoor guest laundry that’s clearly seen better days, and you start to wonder if this whole operation is even worth the savings.

While the Sands Motel might not steal the culinary crown, you’re just a hop and skip away from Even Stevens Sandwiches and Morty's Cafe, serving up some mouth-watering bites. Super clean linens in my room kept my crew comfy through the night!

missingWrote a review on May 26clean roomfriendly staffdecent breakfastcleanliness issuespoor furnishings
The Sands Motel offers a decent location close to the city center. The staff was friendly and helped when I had questions about the area. The room was clean and spacious enough for my stay. The continental breakfast at the Coronada next door had a fair selection, which was a plus. However, there were several issues. The air conditioning unit was difficult to access, making it hard to adjust the temperature comfortably. The decor seemed outdated, and some furnishings, like the chairs, were in poor condition. I noticed some cleanliness issues, particularly in the common areas, which could use more frequent attention. While my stay had its positives, these inconveniences definitely impacted the experience.

The room was decent size and pretty clean, which was nice. Bed was comfy enough to get a solid night's sleep. However, there was no clock, and the TV didn’t work when I tried using it. Breakfast situation was a little annoying since I had to walk to the next hotel and it could’ve had more options. Overall, couldn't complain too much about the room itself, just some little things that could improve it.
